ANALISIS STRUKTURAL "DANAWA SARI PUTRI RAJA RAKSASA" Penerapan Teori A.J. Greimas

This study is not intended as a study to develop theories, but a study that attempts to apply Greimas's structural theory to the text of Indonesian folklore, the Sowdow Princess of the Giant King. Therefore, the method used in the analysis is a structural method with the direction of deductive thinking. That is, the concept of structural theory is used as the basis of the study of texts, not the study of texts used to alter or develop the concept of structural theory. Based on the principle in structuralism, the main founda- tion of analysis remains on the text itself. Meanwhile, the results of structural analysis presented with descriptive technique. From the analysis can be stated that the folklore of Lombok is themed moral, that whoever does evil will get the punishment is worth and who do good will get good too. The theme of goodness is incarnated through the pattern of structures II and IV with the proof of the subject being a recipient; while the theme of evil incarnated through patterns I and II with proof of the subject did not succeed to be the recipient. One more thing is that this folklore turns out to be not exactly the same as stated in theory. Not all stages are met carefully. That is, many figures who are not one hundred percent role in one function. However, that is what is actually a proof that the conflict of prominent characters because they play a double role
